Are These 27 Areas Crying Out for a New Supermarket?
As I walked through the streets of my hometown, I couldn’t help but think about the lack of options when it comes to grocery shopping. The same old familiar faces of the big chains, but where’s the competition? Where’s the variety? It’s a thought that I’m sure many of us have had at some point or another.
It seems that I’m not the only one who’s been thinking about this. Aldi, the UK’s fourth largest supermarket, has been asking shoppers for their input on where they should open new stores. And the responses have been overwhelming - thousands of people have shared their thoughts on where they think a new Aldi store would be most welcome.
The result is a list of 27 areas across the UK that Aldi has identified as priorities for new store openings. From Woodford in London to Penzance in Cornwall, these are the places that are crying out for a new supermarket to bring some much-needed competition to the market.
The areas where Aldi wants to open new stores
At the moment, Aldi has over 1,020 stores across the UK, but they’re not stopping there. Their goal is to have more than 1,500 stores across the country, and with good reason. As Jonathan Neale, Aldi’s managing director of national real estate, put it: “We want to make high-quality food accessible to all, but we can’t do that while there are still some towns and areas that either don’t have an Aldi or have capacity for additional stores.”
I have to say, I’m with Aldi on this one. Having a new supermarket in my area would be a game-changer. I’d have more options, more variety, and more competition to keep prices low. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.
Aldi’s mission to bring affordable, high-quality food to all
As someone who’s passionate about food and cooking, I know how important it is to have access to good quality ingredients at a price that won’t break the bank. And that’s exactly what Aldi is offering. Their commitment to providing affordable, high-quality food is one that I think we can all get behind.
So, if you’re one of the lucky ones living in one of these 27 areas, you might soon be saying goodbye to the days of same-old, same-old and hello to a whole new world of grocery shopping possibilities.
Aldi’s expansion plans could bring a new store to a town near you
It’s an exciting time for foodies and shoppers alike, and I for one can’t wait to see what the future holds for Aldi and the world of grocery shopping.
